The Cretan organisations of Victoria namely the Cretan Brotherhood & the Pancretan Association under the auspices of the Cretan Federation of Australia & New Zealand and as part of the 2021 Victorian Bicentenary Program, are hosting a special event to mark the 250th Anniversary since the passing of the Cretan Ethno-martyr Ioannis Vlahos – Daskalogiannis, honouring his life and contribution to the freedom of Crete and its people.
Join us on Sunday 20th June, 2021 at 10AM for Church Service and Doxology at St Anargiri in Willesden Street Oakleigh followed by a Music and Dance tribute at the Church.
At 1pm there will be a Commemorative luncheon hosted at the Cretan Village with guest speaker The Hon. Mr Manuel Kakavelakis, Consul General of Greece In Melbourne. There will be performances by the Cretan Brotherhood and Pancretan Dance Groups and entertainment by Ioannis Pollakis and other band members.
