Welcome to the Pancretan Association of Melbourne, Australia.  The Pancretan Association of Melbourne Victoria has been established since 1968 for the purpose of bringing together migrants of similar cultural backgrounds for mutual support and identity and cultural specific activities. We are a non-for profit community organisation situated in the City of Knox Wantirna South.

Our associations main aim is to sustain and promote moral, cultural and historical traditions as well as the language of the birth land of Crete through the creation and support of social events, celebrations of historic anniversaries, lectures, festivals, theatre productions, exhibitions, dancing performances as well as other educational programs on our Cretan-Hellenic culture.  Members of the Pancretan Association enjoy free access to all our educational programs.

The Pancretan Association proudly honours and promotes the history and cultural heritage of Greece and Crete and our ties to Australia and more specifically to Victoria to all of our members, the Hellenic community and the wider community of Victoria and Australia.  We commemorate ANZAC and Hellenic veterans and preserve a unique part of ANZAC history and stage annual events honouring the ANZAC and Greek veterans and their families.  These events are attended by military dignitaries and politicians. We are dedicated to continue to strengthen and commemorate these links.

Our Association has an extensive support base as we are affiliated with the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand as well as The World Council of Cretans. We have strong supportive relationship with the Greek Community of Melbourne Victoria (GCOMV), Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce (HACCI), The 39’s Association, Second Second Field Regiment and The Return Services League.  We also have a good working relationship with the City of Knox, The Victoria Multicultural Commission and The National Youth Council.

As a community organisation we have and continue to support a number of local charities over the years with particular focus on children, health and education.  To date a total of $500.000 has been donated to local charities such as the Good Friday Appeal and the Anti Cancer Council. We also offer scholarships to several Victorian schools.

The Pancretan Association would like to sincerely thank its sponsors as well as board members, volunteers and friends of the organisation for their invaluable support.
