The Cretan organisations of Victoria namely the Cretan Brotherhood and the Pancretan Association under the auspices of the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand and as part of the 2021 Victorian Bicentenary Program, are hosting a special event to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Hellenic Independence and the role that Crete played in this historical milestone called Crete in 1821.
Join us on Sunday 6th June, 2021 at 10AM – Church Service and Doxology at Axion Esti, 7 Hartington Street Northcote 11:30AM – Wreath Laying Ceremony, Music and Dance Tribute at the Hellenic Memorial.
At 1pm there will be a Commemorative luncheon hosted at the Cretan House 148-150 Nicholson Street East Brunswick with guest speaker The Hon. Mr Manuel Kakavelakis, Consul General of Greece In Melbourne, followed by performances by the Cretan Brotherhood and Pancretan Dance Groups and entertainment by George Vardakis and other band members.
