The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Crete and Greek Campaign is going to be marked in 2016 in Victoria by a series of events planned by the Battle of Crete and Greece Commemorative Council. The Council was formed recently in Melbourne and is an initiative of the Cretan Community of Victoria.
Its purpose is to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Crete in Australia in such a way that will preserve and promote the shared history and the links of Australia, New Zealand and Greece, raise awareness of the importance of the Battle of Crete and Greek Campaigns and to remember and honour the fallen and the remaining ANZAC veterans.
The Battle of Crete & Greece Commemorative Council of Victoria is proud to announce its Annual program commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Crete and Greece Campaigns with a total of 31 events from beginning in March and ending in December involving over 25 Australian and Greek organisations, uniting the Community for the first time in many years.

Remember all the Allies who fought for freedom. Today remember those who fought and some who gave their lives in the Battle of Crete and Greece 75 years ago. Lest we forget. David Davis MP Member for Southern Metropolitan Region.

I attended the recent services in Melbourne and was very impressed with the enthusiasm shown by everyone who participated. It in in this regard that I’d like to know if anyone would be interested in “Diggers and Greeks: The Australian Campaigns In Greece and Crete”, author Maria Hill, published 2010 by UNSW Press? An excellent book, well researched and written. I can be contacted on fawkeskim7@gmail
